Star Wars Black Series 6" K-2SO (Rogue One)

Here's a look at the Star Wars The Black Series 6" K-2SO.

From the description on the back of the package, "K-2SO is a reprogrammed Imperial security droid now loyal to the Alliance. It is an alarming sight standing within a secret Rebel base. The pragmatic droid is an effective insertion agent as he can blend in perfectly at Imperial installations and outposts."

K-2SO was the figure I most wanted on "Rogue" Friday. And he didn't disappoint. He is fun to fiddle with and he looks really cool! He's tall, imposing, and I like the black tone he's got. He kinda reminds me of the Medical Droid but based on what we know so far I think the only operations he'll be doing is assaulting. I love the contrast of his white eyes against his dark exterior. There's a bit of an eerie look about him and they give the impression that he is presently functioning. There's lots of great sculpted detail on him. You can make out a number of panels, vents and mechanical parts. The paint apps are great and he was made to look worn and battle damaged. There are several areas with paint scrapes on his body. There are Imperial logos on his shoulders and they too were roughly done, further giving the impression of him being worn. An interesting thing about him are the elbow and knee joints. If you view them from the side you'll notice it's translucent in the middle. I took another look at the trailers and noticed those joints are like a ring, that is you can see through the middle of it. I think Hasbro did a good job in trying to make it more accurate. The way those joints were attached though is weak. It's quite noticeable at the knees joints where they look like they're going to buckle in some of the pics. It's because of this he can't hold certain poses for long and has some trouble standing.

A close up of the head. I love that they applied some silver at his "cheeks". It helps bring out some of the sculpt and make him less dull. There's also some silver applied on the interior of the neck slot. Very nice!

Just to show you the sculpted detail at his mid-section.

He's got great articulation. He's got a dumbbell joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, elbow hinge, swivel above and below the elbow hinge, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, knee hinge, swivel above and below the knee hinge and vertical and lateral ankle hinge. Head articulation is excellent, he can look up and down very well. He cannot bend forward much, he can however bend backwards decently. The elbow, knee and ankle hinges are bidirectional, allowing for some fun poses.

Comparison shots. K-2SO is tall, but not as tall as Chewbacca.

Great figure! I had a lot of fun fiddling with him. I can't wait to see him in action on the big screen. Thanks for viewing!
