Marvel Legends Series Secret War Captain America

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Secret War Captain America.

I should have read the name more carefully. It says "Secret War", and not "Secret Wars". I've been Googling the wrong thing. I have not seen Captain America in this particular costume before and I wanted to know when he wore it. It turns out he appeared in it briefly in the Secret War series published in 2004 - 2005. It's an odd choice to make a figure of. But it's one that Hasbro can make easily. The figure is a repaint of Wolf Cap. The head looks to be a reuse of the Ultimate Captain America head. The paint apps are good. The design, stars and lines on his costume came out clean and straight. The American flag on his left arm was very well done. One thing I don't like is how they painted the silver line through the star on the front. It's kinda distracting. The belt is a separate piece and has some shading on it. It seems out of place with his clean costume.

Accessories. He comes with his shield and an extra open hand with throwing effect attached. The BAF part is the right arm of Abomination.

The shield is the same one that came with Wolf Cap. It's of different colour tones though. It can peg into the end of the red effect piece and make him seem like he's throwing the shield.

The problem with this is it makes his throw awkward, as illustrated in the following image. By right the shield should be heading to his right or towards our view. It's cool they included the effects piece. The execution unfortunately is off.

All is not wasted. I thought of some other uses for the effect piece. Lol.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, thigh swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

It's a decent figure. But it's not one I'm interested in as I have little affinity for it. Thanks for viewing!
