Star Wars The Black Series 3.75" Rey & Finn (Jakku)

More Black Series 3.75". Here's a look at Rey and Finn.

Finn is a nice looking figure. I think they captured his likeness well. He wears a determined look on his youthful looking face. The eyes were well painted and the hair has good detail. There's great detail all round on his attire. His shirt is textured. There's a lot of wrinkles on his pants and there's even dirt painted on at his ankles. I should say sand since this figure is based on his Jakku appearance The jacket has nice sculpted detail. There are pockets, straps, wrinkles and textured areas on it. The painted areas are okay. There's some noticeable red slop. The jacket has a bit of a dirty brown wash which is nice. It's only on the body though, there's none on the sleeves. Speaking of which, the sleeves are lighter coloured.

Accessories. He comes with a very detailed blaster rifle. The body of it is textured which is fantastic for the 3.75" scale. It has great paint detail as well.  There's some dark grey shading, and also some gold shading applied. Awesome stuff!

Like many others Rey has become a new favourite character of mine. I really enjoyed seeing her in the movie. Given her popularity I suggest picking up whichever figure of her you're after quickly. This Black Series 3.75" one I feel is a good one to get. I think she looks the best out of all the Hasbro figures of her released so far. The head sculpt is nice and there's good paint detail. There's even redness on her cheeks. Her hair appears slick due to gloss paint. Her desert garb was very well done. There's lots of folds and wrinkles. I particularly like the wrapping on her arms. The hanging pieces of material are flexible and do allow leg articulation. She's wearing gloves which goes towards giving her a fully covered look along with the accessories. I somehow missed the unpainted ankle joint when picking up the figure. I'm quite annoyed with myself about that.

Accessories. Rey comes with a head coverings and goggles piece, her staff and a backpack with adjustable straps. You need to remove her head first in order to put on the head coverings. The goggles if I recall correctly are dirty white and not brown. I'm not bothered by it. I think this is better actually.

Here's a quick comparison shot with the Snow Mission figure. The staff you can see is more accurate with this figure.

The backpack at first I thought are the same but I think this one is new (below right). It looks smaller and has just a bit more surface detail to it. It's of a slightly darker brown colour and the cannister thingy at the side was painted silver here.

Articulation. Finn's got a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hinge hips, swivel hinge knees and swivel hinge ankles.

Rey has  a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint waist, ball hinge hips, swivel hinge knees and swivel hinge ankles. She can look up quite well.

The hip joints for both figures are attached upwards into the torso.

Comparison shots. No contest as to which is the better 3.75" Rey figure.

Great figures! Now if only I can find the First Order Stormtrooper. Thanks for viewing!
