S.H.Figuarts Star Wars Battle Droid

Roger. Roger.

This is the droid you'll want to look for. The S.H.Figuarts Battle Droid is a great figure. The sculpt is superb and it has good detail. Even the eyes were sculpted. Don't let it's small, thin frame fool you. It's actually pretty hardy and made of solid plastic. Unlike the "rubbery" Black Series IG-88. He's held up well to my posing him. One area you'll want to take care of are the fingers. They come out quite easily. The piece is small and you don't want to lose it. The paint apps are good. I like the silver applied to the pistons and some of the joints. He may look clean in the pics but there's actually some scuff and scratch marks all over his body. There's also panel lining done in light brown. Very nice!

Accessories. He comes with a blaster rifle. It has great sculpted detail. And also paint detail. He cannot grip it that well.  As long as you don't move the figure it'll be fine.

He also comes with antennas. To use them, you remove the top left section of his backpack and insert them in. There's a peg on the right side of the backpack which you pull down. This is where he can carry his blaster.

The Battle Droid has excellent articulation. There's a ball joint at the head, hinge joints at the upper and lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, elbow hinge, forearm swivel, ball joint wrists, ball joint "thumbs", hinge at the middle of the hand, "finger" hinge, ball joint torso, ball hips, knee hinge, ankle hinge and pivot. There are hinges at the shoulder covers as well to allow arm articulation. The torso can only be turned about 45 degrees. He can bend forward decently and arch back well. He can spread his legs just a little but good enough for a Battle Droid. They usually just walk anyway and are not very flexible. The knee hinge allows his leg to almost touch his thigh. The ankle can pivot only a little but again is good enough. There's one area I wished were better and that is the elbows. I would have liked if they could bend more so that he can pull the gun from his back.

He's able to get into the storage / transport position. Outstanding!

Comparison shots. I'm not too sure how tall it's supposed to be but I think it's of a good height. It stands around the same height as Hasbro's Black Series 6" figures.

The Battle Droid is an excellent figure! I regret not getting at least one more. Thanks for viewing!
