Ultron! In the flesh!
Here's the parts list:
- Ant-Man - head
- Wasp - torso
- Bulldozer - left arm
- Tigershark - right arm
- Grim Reaper - left leg
- Giant Man - right leg
Ultron is the main villain for Avengers: Age of Ultron. So it's a little weird he's the build-a-figure (BAF) of the Ant-Man series. Of course Ultron can appear in the Ant-Man movie. We'll just have to wait and see. Ultron is a good looking figure. He looks pretty accurate to how he appeared in the movie. I like the head sculpt. It's got lots of great detail on it. They did the eyes very well. The paint application for them are great, especially the tiny white circles which are clean and sharp. I would have liked if they did the mouth differently. It makes him look like he's on the brink of crying. The body I feel should have more bulk. He's kind of slim. It reminds me of the Terminator body. It's got lots of great sculpted detail though. I especially like the round shoulder design. There's also nice sculpted sections on the torso and back. The paint application could be better. Or I should say more thorough. I like the shiny silver on the head, upper torso and legs. The mid-section, forearms and feet were left unpainted, giving him a bit of a disjointed look. View him from the back and you think he's a different figure. It's totally unpainted.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can't lift his legs much due to the thick thigh armour. He also can't spread them much. The ankle restricts the ankle pivot. All this makes it hard to find a good pose for him.
Comparison shots. I like how tall he is.
Ultron looks okay. He could do with a proper paint job. Disappointed with the leg articulation. Guess he'll just be standing around. Thanks for viewing!
