The star packed media preview for STGCC was held today, 29 August 2013. I got the chance to meet some of the guests and also view the various exclusives.

STGCC 2013 Update 5: Waltz of The Walt Disney Company at STGCC

The Walt Disney Company will make its highly-anticipated appearance at STGCC as one of the headline exhibitors. The family entertainment giant, which has been holding fans spellbound for decades with its entertainment contents, will bring together popular brands such as Disney XD, Disney Infinity, Marvel Studios, Marvel Animation TV, and LEGO all under one roof at STGCC. Disney’s booth will be peppered with fabulous giveaways during every hour at STGCC, and lined up with exciting activities for everyone. 

Accompanying Disney on its first venture into STGCC is a list of celebrated personalities who invigorate the Disney universe with fans’ favourites. They will be meeting fans, signing autographs and conducting panel sessions at STGCC. Here are a few names already confirmed to attend:

• C.B. Cebulski, Senior Vice President Marvel Studios/Disney, who scouts for fresh creative talents to enhance the magic of Marvel Studios/Disney

• Cort Lane, Producer of Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man and Vice President of Animation Development and Production for Marvel Entertainment

• Nicholas Foo, the only Asia-based (Singapore) LEGO Certified Professional who specializes in his creative use of LEGO materials, will be demonstrating his talent on STGCC’s show floor

Ms Yeow Hui Leng, Senior Project Director of STGCC, said: “Disney’s presence at STGCC has further elevated the star factor of our show and affirmed our status as Southeast Asia’s biggest, most exciting pop culture show. Disney’s wide range of content, from beloved cartoons to superhero blockbusters, will enthrall die-hard fans and families alike.”

300th Post: Marvel Super Hero Squad Collection

It's the 300th post! That was fast. I thought I wouldn't reach it for at least another 3 months. Can't say I'm too surprised though. Instead of a few I've been putting up almost all the figures from a new wave. By posing and taking shots of the figures I find I appreciate them more. It used to be putting them in the shelf or just bagging them after fiddling with them for awhile. I've also attended more events in recent times. There's not much to do during the weekends so I may as well go for these events for a change. I'm liking Japanese pop culture more and more.

Some site news. There's some problems with the formatting of my blog. I used to be able to put two vertical pics side by side. Majority of the older posts are affected and if I try to correct it, something else goes wrong. So for future posts, the images will follow one after the other. My Little Pony - Celebrating the Magic of Friendship

Singapore, 4 August 2013 - Yesterday, My Little Pony fans gathered along Orchard Road to celebrate International Friendship Day which falls on the first Sunday of August (4th August 2013). The outing, which was inspired by the popular My Little Pony (MLP) animation series whose tagline is "Friendship is Magic", was open to the public and invited everyone to celebrate their relationship with one another (friends and family alike) through a photo opportunity with My Little Pony models. The event attracted fans (and neophytes) and people of all ages - this included young families, grandparents and grandchildren, young children and teenagers, as they captured a moment of their friendship.
