Marvel Universe Captain America (wave 22)

Here's a look at the latest version of the Marvel Universe Captain America.

This is the modern version of Captain America. I love the colours of the figure. The body used is the current standard base body most new releases are on. He's head sculpt is new. The likeness is good. He's got a square jaw and you can make out his chin more clearly. There's a little more facial lines which gives him an older and more seasoned look. His eyes were well painted. He's lacking the "scales" on his upper torso.  It's a glaring omission as Cap almost always has the them in the comics. The belt is glued on. It looks a little awkward as there's no belt loops. The glove and boot tops are also glued on. They have a some textured detail on them.  The paint application is poor. The A on his forehead was not properly painted on. The star on his chest is fuzzy and there's bleeding on his biceps where the blue and white meet.

He comes with his shield. It's painted with metallic paint. I love how it looks. It suits the figure really well with its similar shades of colours. The shield has only a clip. It's a little loose around his wrist. Just slide it up his forearm a little and it'll be more secure. I would have liked if it had straps so he can carry it on his back.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, single hinge elbows, wrist swivel, torso pivot, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down really well.

Comparison shots. This will be my new display Captain America.

This is a good figure. Shame about the "scales". Since we're revisiting previously released characters hopefully Vision and Nick Fury are in the works. Thanks for viewing!

  1. And finally, a near perfect basic Captain America with all the joints a person could want.
