This here is the Iron Man Model 70. It debuted a couple of years ago in the comics. I'm not familiar with the story. From what I Googled Tony Stark decided to do some soul-searching and downgraded to this classic style armour. He has to put it on manually and it's not as advanced as some of his other armour. I think it looks good. I'm liking the classic design and it's size and bulk. The body is new. There's a good amount of detail on the armour. It's got the arc reactor chest and repulsors in his hands and feet. There are white discs at the sides of his forearms and boots. Gold plating was layered on top of the base red suit. The gold plating at his upper shoulders and thighs are separate pieces stuck on at their lower section. The top half of those plating was not glued down allowing for flexibility, which is good for the articulation. One thing though is that the armour looks a little lacklustre. It has just the gloss plastic. It could use some metallic paint. Still I'm quite happy with. It looks good, especially under light.
Some close-ups of his helmet. Swirly lines of the plastic can be seen in his face plate which is annoying. I'm also not a fan of the black "vent" on his cheeks.
I tried swapping on some unmasked heads. I'm glad they can be used with this new body.
Accessories. He comes with an extra set of fists, two repulsor blast effect pieces and two smoke effect pieces. We've seen the effect pieces before. They will work with both his hands and feet. He does not come with any BAF parts.
Articulation. He's got a ball hinge upper neck, dumbbell joint lower neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, diaphragm joint, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.
He can look up and down very well. The lower neck joint allows him better range. He's able to tilt and cock his head.
The gold armour on his shoulders is flexible and allows arm articulation. It will get deformed so do remember to put him back into a neutral pose so as not to let it get warped out of shaped. It's happened for his right shoulder... The plate is sitting higher now...
He cannot bend forward much. He can bend back more. And also tilt his body to the side very well.
Here's how much he can raise his leg. It can go higher. You just need to turn his leg out to the side first.
Now for some action poses.
Comparison shots.
Excellent figure! It's got good size and articulation. Thanks for viewing!
