Marvel Legends Series Boom Boom & Cannonball (Wendigo BAF)

Here's a look at a couple of X-Force teammates, Cannonball and Boom Boom.

Let's get Cannonball out of the way first. He'll be quick to go through as there's only half a figure to talk about... I really can't understand how Hasbro can release a figure without legs. Sure what we got looks good and all but I can't help but feel a bit cheated. I've no doubt we'll be seeing Cannonball released again, and with legs.

Cannonball looks good. He's got a nice head sculpt. His gritted teeth expression suits him for when he's charging off quickly to somewhere. His eyes were painted looking up so yeah, mainly flying poses for him. The aviator cap piece was stuck on. I like the textured detail, especially on the back. There's nice paint detail for goggles and the buckles on the hanging straps. The hair looks good too and there's some shading in it. The torso is new. The design on his white suit was sculpted and you can make out the creases and wrinkles. It's a pretty tight suit as you can make out some of his abs. The jacket too is new. There's nice detail on it as well. The arms reuses the Shatterstar arms and gloves. His lower half is a translucent blast-off piece. I say blast-off piece for the flat base. A flying piece would have a conical shape at the end. The piece is hollow so you can stick something in it to make him fly a different direction other than up. Having the piece attach at the waist definitely gives him a better look for when he's flying. I hate to say it again but really he needs his legs... The piece may be detached from his waist and you can custom some legs for him if you like.

Seeing as how the blast piece is translucent I tried putting a light under it to see what sort of effect we'll get. It's not my best attempt but I hope this gives you some idea as to how it'll look.

Cannonball does not come with any accessories aside from the blast-off effect piece. The included BAF piece is the right leg of Wendigo.

Next up Boom Boom.

Boom Boom is in her X-Force costume from the 90s. She's decked out in pink with some maroon articles. The body reuses the Mystique body. The jacket and belt are from Rogue. I believe the glove cuffs, thigh strap thingy and boot tops are new. These glove cuffs are basically just a smooth ring slid onto her wrists. I can't recall anyone else having them. She wears a giant green visor which blocks most of her face. It is not removable. Her bright pink lipstick really stands out. Her hair is nice and I like that it has some shading in it.

Just to show you her earrings.

Accessories. She comes with an alternate bubblegum blowing head, a translucent plasma left hand with an energy bomb forming from her fingertips and an extra separate energy bomb. I wasn't sure what her powers was exactly. From wiki, it says she's able to create variably sized orbs of plasma, fiery like energy which she calls "time-bombs". The energy bombs are actually of the same shape, just that one's attached to her hand. The included BAF piece is the left leg of Wendigo.

The bubblegum head appears to use a similar head sculpt, just with the added bubblegum.

Her bubblegum is actually different from Jubilee's. Hers is red in colour and is bigger.

And here's how she looks with her time-bombs.

Articulation

Cannonball has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch and waist rotation. He can look up and down well. The gloves restrict his elbows. The ab crunch is barely usable. He can only bend forward maybe half a click and bend backwards about the same.

Boom Boom has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

Both are nice figures. Cannonball has the unique honour of being good and disappointing at the same time. Thanks for viewing!

That's so weird that they didn't include option legs for Cannonball. I suppose it might have increased the price point, but still.

Boom Boom is my favorite X-Force member, and her figure came out really nice. I'm getting it soon.
