Marvel Legends Series Beast (Caliban BAF)

Here's a look at the new Marvel Legends Beast.

Beast is a great looking figure. It is huge upgrade over the Toy Biz version but it's just short of what I would have liked. Especially in terms of his appearance. I feel that the blue is too bright. I would have preferred a darker tone. Then there's the shading. I like that they did some shading for his fur, but it's rather segmented. You have a dark patch then you get a clean patch. Some black wash would help. I'm happy with the other aspects. He has a good size and bulk. He's got a great head sculpt. I like the teeth and his shouting expression. His eyes are all white and has no pupils. I like the furry sideburns and how his "hair" turned out. Like that it's got some blue shading in it. The body looks great. There's furry detail all over his body. The belt is a separate piece.

Beast typically doesn't stand straight so here he is with a bit of a hunch.

A close-up of his face. His tongue was actually sculpted. Click images to enlarge.

He comes with an extra right fist and an open left hand. Would have liked if they could give an extra neutral expression head. Maybe also some glasses. The included BAF part is the head of Caliban.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ball joint torso, ab crunch, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, ankle hinge and pivot and toe hinge. He can look up and down okay. The butterfly joint works well. He can swing his arms back a lot so much so it creates an extra shoulder in some poses. Wished that he could swing his arms front more. The torso joint is mainly for turning his body.

Comparison shots. Note that he's standing straight in some shots and hunched in others.

Great figure! It just needs some tweaking. Thanks for viewing!

@J Hernandez - Thanks!

Unfortunately, Hasbro made him a head too tall. Hank is 5'11 not 6'6.

Yeah, he's way too big & broad still. Standing next to Sabretooth, Beast shouldn't look more intimidating. I'd be fine with him at Cyclops' height, and still stout but not so huge.
