Marvel Legends Vintage Series 2 Hawkeye & The Vision

Here's a look at the Marvel Legends Vintage Series 2, Hawkeye and The Vision.

Hasbro did not have to do too much to give us a classic looking Hawkeye. Just swap in an exposed left arm on the figure from the Allfather series, and walah! Lol. I'm glad they went a couple of steps further and threw in some new armbands and gave him Dr Voodoo's bracers for the forearms. To my surprise they also changed his right hand, one with an up and down hinge. It'll be easier for him to pull out his arrows now, if he had any to pull out. There's also some paint differences which I'll go through below.

The skin tone is lighter. And both the blue and purple of his costume is of a lighter tone. The changes did the trick and I quite like the look of the figure. I wish they could have given us new head sculpt. I never liked the old and disinterested look of his face.

Hawkeye comes with his bow and a quiver of arrows. They are the exact same ones that we have got previously. They are of a darker tone compared to the ones that came with the Allfather figure.

Next up, Vision.

What to say about Vision... I quite like the figure but at the same time put off by his chunky appearance, especially at the yellow mid-section and thighs. He's on the Bullseye body but I don't think that's the cause of the awkwardness. It's more likely due to the painted design. He does look okay from some other angles. Metallic green was used for parts of his body. This gives the figure more of a modern feel. Matte colours would have been better for a truly classic version. Still I don't mind this. I feel that the outer black lines at his abs could have been aligned with the ab joint. A minor issue but seeing the multiple lines is a little distracting. The head sculpt reuses the one from the Hulkbuster BAF series. The colours are so much better here. The red is matte while the green is metallic. I wish that the swirly pattern wasn't on his head. Guess it can't be helped. The cape is new. It fits him well.

Vision comes with the head of Ultron. The head is the same one as on the figure from the Iron Monger BAF series. This one has painted energy flowing in his eyes and mouth. It's quite nice I must say.

Where else to use the head than on an Ultron figure.

Articulation

Hawkeye has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel and up and down hinge right wrist, swivel hinge left wrist, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, boot swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Vision has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot.

Comparison shots.

Hawkeye is okay. Vision too I guess... I still can't get over the chunky appearance... Thanks for viewing!

  1. Good stuff, Jason! Gotta say I'm pretty mixed on this wave. Think I'm probably only gonna pick up Black Panther. Maybe Vision, but that's a big maybe. Thanks for the great review, man!

  2. Maybe it's the yellow on the upper thighs/hips. Maybe if those were removed, it will look better? IDK...
