DC Collectibles Superman: The Animated Series Superman & Lois Lane Two-Pack

Here's a look at the Superman: The Animated Series two-pack Superman and Lois Lane.

Big blue gets his turn in the spotlight. Superman is a great looking figure. The sculpt is nice! There's a good likeness. He looks like he stepped right out of the show. The head looks a tad small but it's not a big deal.  He has a pleasant appearance. I have not seen him in his classic costume in awhile so seeing it is rather refreshing for me. As with the animated style figures there's not a lot of detail. The S logo and the belt were sculpted.

Lois Lane is a much wanted figure for me. I did not manage to get the old 4" figure from the Battle of Metropolis set and this goes some way in making up for that. Finally I have an animated Lois Lane and I couldn't be happier. This is a nicer figure too and she's in her trademark purple and white attire. The blouse aside from the sleeves is a vinyl material with the details moulded. There are lines in her skirt which you may not be able to make out. The head sculpt is nice. There's a good likeness. The paint apps are good aside for the eyes which were painted too high. They look a little derpy but she still has that air of strength and confidence about her.

Accessories

Superman comes with two additional sets of open hands, one set of gripping hands and a stand and a base.

Lois likewise comes with two additional sets of open hands, one set of gripping hands, a stand and a base. I would have liked if she had a notepad, pen, or something. Superman I can understand but Lois could use some accessories.

Articulation

Superman has a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, waist rotation, peg hinge hips, knee hinge and ankle hinge. He can look down a little and cannot look up. The knees bend less than ninety degrees.

Lois has a ball joint neck, ball hinge shoulders, swivel hinge elbows, swivel hinge wrists, waist rotation, peg hinge hips and knee hinge. She can look down just a bit but not up due to her hair. The elbows bend less than ninety degrees. Her skirt severely restricts leg articulation. That along with the heels she's wearing means that there's no other poses she can do aside from standing straight.

Comparison shots.

Love the figures! I hope there will be more Superman characters down the line. Thanks for viewing!

Argh! Why did they start removing the ankle rockers from this line of figures?
You usually see figures gain articulation as a line goes on, not lose it!
(Great review and pics though, btw)
