Marvel Legends Shatterstar & Sunfire (Warlock BAF)

Two characters I never really took to, Shatterstar and Sunfire.

Shatterstar is the more interesting figure of the two. The body reuses the Goblin torso and the Bucky Captain America upper legs. The upper arms are new. There's lots of sculpted wrinkled fabric which is fitting as he did wear quite a baggy top. These arms are bigger than the usual arms and they cannot be put closer to his body than what you see in the following pics. I initially thought the gloves were from Baron Zemo but these are slightly wider and have a different wrinkle pattern. Another area which is new are the boots. The black paint apps on his legs is rough. The scarf and shoulder pad, belt and the textured thigh strap thingy are separate pieces added on. The belt is the same one as the Hydra Soldier's. I like that they painted the buckle and did some black shading on it. I think he's got a great head sculpt. The thick leather like head gear looks great. I like that it has some dark brown wash on it like on the shoulder pad. The pigtails extend out from the head gear. The hair has good detail and has a little brown shading in it.

Shatterstar can appear top heavy. That is partly due to the scarf and shoulder pad piece which is removable. Without it it's more apparent how high his head sits. The logo on his chest was well done. It has a silver outline which you may not be able to make out.

Click images to enlarge. His right eye is shiny blue in colour while his left is gold. The mark at his left eye was well done as well.

Sunfire reuses the Spider-man 2099 mould from the Sandman BAF series. The paint apps here are good. The gold pattern on his mask, forearms and legs were all well done. The white edges on his costume are clean and straight. The belt is a separate piece and again the paint apps are good. The head sculpt is nice. The eyes are orange in colour and have a red outline.

Accessories
Shatterstar comes with a sword and a double-bladed sword. Both have spiked hand-guards. The plastic used for them is pretty rigid. I say that but the double-bladed sword came out slightly warped out of the package. I'll have to straighten that out. The included BAF part is the right arm of Warlock.

Sunfire comes with a pair of flame effect pieces for use with his hands. They are the same ones that came with Iron Fist from the Dormammu BAF series. The colours here are darker tone. The included BAF part is the torso of Warlock.

Articulation
Shatterstar has got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. Despite the scarf he can look up and down quite well. The shoulder pad does not hinder head rotation. It does however hinder him from raising his left arm straight up. It is flexible enough to allow it but it will end up looking awkward. The boot tops are flexible enough to allow calf swivel. The wrinkles on the boots prevent the feet from flexing upwards fully.

Sunfire has a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He'' need to wear his belt higher so it won't get twisted when the waist joint is in use.

Comparison shots.

Both are nice figures! Thanks for viewing!

Dude, again with the total knockout on the pictures.
Two characters that I wouldn't normally give a crap about, I now want because of your review.
