Marvel Legends Series Spider-man 2099 & Spider-UK (Multiverse Spider-men)

Along came a Spider. Make that two.

First up Spider-man 2099. I haven't kept up with what he's been up to in the comics. I just know that he's stuck in the present and his current suit, which the figure is based on was given to him by Peter Parker. Spider-man 2099 has got a nice head sculpt. The outline for the eyes were sculpted and it looks pretty cool. There's also some sculpted design on his mask. He is on a new body mould which is similar in size to the Bucky Captain America body. It looks good. I'm impressed with the butterfly joints which you'll see in action later. The paint apps is quite poor. The metallic red is bleeding and patchy is several areas. There are some blue lines painted on to illustrate the illuminated blue lights of his suit. While accurate, I find them distracting.

The suit has has some similarities to his previous one. Such as the protruding "blades" on his forearms. They are separate pieces stuck onto the figure. And here you can see that there's a black design on the sides of his suit.

No prizes for guessing where Spider-UK is from. Billy Braddock is the man in the suit. Not to be confused with Brian Braddock who is Captain Britain. Spider-UK looks pretty good. He's another who's on a new body mould. The body is slightly larger than Spider-man 2099 you see above. A unique thing about this mould is that you can see the costume stretched and creased in places, notably at the thighs, groin area both front and back and knees. Previous moulds tend to be mostly muscular and smooth. One thing I don't like are the ankles. They have ball joints peeking out and look a little awkward. I would have liked if they could have smoothed that out. The paint apps are just okay. The black web lines were well done. He's got line painted at his fingers as well. The white outline is patchy and has a noticeable slop is one area which is annoying.

Neither comes with any accessories. I would have liked if they came with extra interchangeable hands. Included with Spider-man 2099 is the right arm of the Sandman BAF while Spider-UK comes with the left arm.

Articulation.
Spider-man 2099 has got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, butterfly joints, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel double jointed knees, calf swivel and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look up and down well. The butterfly joints have a very good range of motion.

Comparison shots.

Both are great figures. I just wish they came with extra alternate hands. Thanks for viewing!
