Marvel Legends Series Infamous Iron Man (Dr Doom)

Woohoo! Dr Doom!!! Oh wait... it's just Infamous Iron-Man. At least it's better than nothing.

For those who do not know Dr Doom who took up the mantle of Iron Man for a time. I was aware of the development but I did not read the story. So according to Wiki basically he got his face restored, wanted to redeem himself, helped out Tony Stark and became Iron Man when Tony was comatose. Google for more details. I'll be looking out for the tpb. I'm reading that it's a good read.

Infamous Iron Man is a repaint of the Iron Man figure we got in the Okoye BAF series. Based on the front view the head looks to be the same. The back of the head may have been slightly modified to accommodate the hood. I'm not too sure as the hood was stuck on. There's a bit of paint detail on the helmet. You'll want to make sure that the painted lines are as best as possible. Notably the "mouth". I was able to choose from a couple of pieces and on almost all of them the mouth did not align properly. The suit was cast in shiny grey plastic. For me it looks a little flat and I would have preferred it shinier. Aside for the centre one, the other two green circles on his chest were painted on. There's green paint deco under his armpits, at his elbows, inner thighs, just below his knees and on his feet. The dark olive green cape is a separate piece. I love how seamless the hood and cape appear from the back view. I also love the shape and the textured detail on it. It's only textured on the outside. The inside is smooth. The cape is quite long and it touches the surface.

The cape is removable. The hood unfortunately isn't. He looks quite awkward like this. They really should have made the hood removable. Or maybe included an extra normal head. I'm noticing the green feet more as I go though the pics. They kind of remind me of bedroom slippers...

A close-up of the head. He looks pretty good actually.

Accessories. He comes with an unmasked head, Repulsor hands, two Repulsor effect pieces and two stringy energy effect pieces. We've seen similar hands and effect pieces previously. The Repulsor hands do not have hinges on them.

The unmasked head has a decent likeness. He looks a little old compared to the images I looked up. I don't mind it considering he should be around the same age as Reed Richards. There's nice detail for his hair and I like that it's got some shading in it.

Articulation. He's got a ball hinge neck, ball hinge shoulders, bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, swivel hinge wrists, ab crunch, waist rotation, ball hips, thigh swivel, double jointed knees and ankle hinge and pivot. He can look down okay. He can't look up due to the hood. The cape restricts him from using his right arm fully. There's more allowance for his left arm. The cape gets in the way of low posing and also some flying poses.

Comparison shots.

Nice figure! Shame about the hood being stuck to the helmet. Thanks for viewing!

That is one of the most desirable toys in this series. Great images. I'm drooling.
